On the occasion of Social Awareness Day on 8th February 2023, Acid Survivors & Women Welfare Foundation was felicitated by Ekannoborti, a Kolkata-based organization working towards the welfare of society for being an integral part of the Women’s welfare movement to impart and grow awareness regarding the life of women who have been once a victim and been able to find a way towards betterment. Smt. Chandrima Bhattacharya, Hon’ble Minister of State for Finance (Independent Charge), Health and Family Welfare, Land and Land Reforms, Refugee and Rehabilitation of the Government of West Bengal was present to do the honors.
On 15th January 2023 at AquaMarina at Hooghly, West Bengal a special programme was held to support survivors of acid violence which was very well attended by the public. A ‘Talk Show’ was held where the survivors spoke about their lives and the role of ASWWF in transforming their lives. A fashion show was also held to give them an opportunity to express themselves and showcase their strength to overcome any adversary as a role model for society.At the end of the programme gifts were presented to each survivor.
